Stella McCartney is the second child of former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney she was born in Lambeth, London on 13 September 1971.

Stella McCartney at sixteen interned for Christian Lacroix, working on his first fashion design collection,honing and mastering her skills working for Edward Sexton,her father sir Paul mcCartney’s Savile Row tailor for a number of years.

Stella studied at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication,and fashion design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in the early 1990s. Her graduation collection in 1995 was modeled by her close friends supermodels,Kate Moss,Yasmin Le Bon and Naomi Campbell at the graduation runway show.The show made front page news, and the entire collection was sold to Tokio,a London boutique.The designs were licensed to Browns, Joseph, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.

For her sisters wedding Mary in 1998, Stella McCartney designed her sisters wedding dress for her wedding to television producer Alistair Donald.

March 1997 Stella McCartney was appointed Creative Director of Paris fashion house Chloé.

Stella McCartney moved on from Chloé in 2001 in order to enter a joint venture with Gucci.The line has four stores one in New York City which opened it doors in September 2002, one in Mayfair,London, which opened in April 2004, one in Los Angeles which she opened in September 2005 and included a new range for the perfume market, and a store in Hong Kong, which opened in 2008. In 2009,Stella McCartney opened a store in Paris in the heart of the Jardins du Palais Royal.

Stella McCartney was awarded the VH1/Vogue Designer of the Year award in 2000.Sir Paul McCartney presented the award to his daughter.She thanked him in her thankyou speech and dedicated the award to her late mother Linda McCartney In 2000,Stella McCartney designed the pop star Madonna’s wedding dress for her marriage to film director Guy Ritchie.

At the beggining of January 2007,Stella launched a Stella McCartney skincare line called Care.The 100% organic skincare line includes seven products,from a cleansing milk made with lemon balm and apricot to green tea and linden blossom floral water.

In January 2008,Stella McCartney’s collaboration with lingerie label Bendon was is due to be released to major department stores,specialty stores and Stella McCartney stores.Stella McCartney was also scheduled, in early 2008, to release a line of handbags for LeSportsac.The collection will have roughly 30 different styles and will range from $200–$500. The collection will consist of luggage,baby accessories,travel bags and bags for mothers with infants and toddlers.The fashion range is to be sold at high end retailers and the Los Angeles and New York Stella McCartney stores, select LeSportsac boutiques, and will be available for purchase online.

In 2009, Stella McCartney announced a children’s wear collaboration with major retailer Gap,in November.The collection will be carried in selected Gap Kids and baby Gap stores in the United States and Canada, the UK,Japan,Ireland and France.

Stella McCartney just goes from strength to strength

Proving to her critics that she has not got to where she is due her famous father but buy pure hard work and and having a style and vision of her own.
